Design Process

Quality design forms the foundation for a successful garden.  Our tried and tested design process will ensure you are delivered a garden design that meets your personal needs & lifestyle requirements.
We believe that good communication between designer and client is paramount and we will keep you informed throughout the design process.

Initial Consultation
Justin will meet with you at your property to listen to your ideas & understand your landscaping requirements.
He will discuss ideas and ensure he understands the vision you have for your garden.
Justin will then prepare a written quote for the design services you require.

Design Brief
If our quote is acceptable we can begin developing a detailed design brief. This is an important part of the process and we will spend considerable time discussing ideas, style preferences and your wish list for your garden. We may use visual material such as pictures and photographs to get a feel for the things you like. Christchurch Landscaping

Site Survey & Analysis
Usually done on a second visit, the site survey includes the following:
Measurement of the areas to be designed
Taking of levels (if required)
Recording of existing site features to be retained in the new design
Aspect, views, soil & drainage
Photographs
Large or complex sites may require the services of a surveyor.

First Draft Concept Plan
With the information gathered from the design brief and site survey we will prepare a concept plan showing the proposed layout of your new garden. We then meet with you on site to present the initial concept plan.
This is an opportunity to discuss the plan and for you to provide feedback. At this time we may also discuss planting preferences in preparation for a planting plan.

Final Concept Plan
Incorporating any agreed changes and refined ideas from our meeting, we will proceed with drawing the final concept plan and the preparation of associated documents.

Presentation of Final Plans
You will be presented with 2 copies of the completed Concept Plan, one coloured and one black & white. If you have requested a Planting Plan, this will also be presented at this meeting.
At this point we can discuss whether you would like us to provide a quote for our project management and planting services.
